scratchcards
Steve M asked:

50-year-old Ellen Davies stole £19,000 worth of scratchcards over 14 months because she was ‘bored’ with her job in a post office. She won just £50.

Do you think that this finally proves just what a total ripoff these cards are?

Scratch cards and lotteries are games for mugs. Put your money in a savings account.

I’ve never bought one and don’t intend to do so.

I do the lottery for fun, but I know the odds and don’t have any expectations.

Thank god this story came to light, and that you’re advertising it. Scratch cards are such bullshit and this just proves how rediculous the odds are. I worked nights at this place for 3 months, bought a ticket with my lunch every day and won about 12 quid. If they actually gave proceeds to a real charity, one might say fair enough, biut robbing from the ignorant and then putting a new chandelier in the local opera house is rediculous. I hate the lottery, and as for the weekly draw, if it was a roulette wheel and your ticket was a number on it, the wheel would be 60 miles accross..

texas hold um……you hold 7 2 unsuited..the flop has 3 over cards and still a family pot. 2 pair will probably win pot odds are huge against you. at this point you must call….implied odds mean if you hit a miracle draw you will win a huge pot….a lottery is one huge implied odds bet….the odds are 20 million to 1 against to only win 10 million dollars….do you spend 2 dollars per week to gamble OR do you save 2 dollars per week for a month and then buy a good beer at a bar..or do you spend 3 dollars on a big mac or one dollar on a double cheese burger a big mac has lettuce, an extra piece of bread a little thousand island dressing and seeds on the top bun….a double cheese has an extra piece of cheese. the free cheese costs more than the extra stuff on the big mac and they charge you 2 bucks more. now be a good republican even though you earn lira or pounds and cut your personal spending
