scratchcards
SoulQueen asked:

I also checked out lottery checker - its pretty neat!

When you have a scratchcard that says ‘pick one of the three stars to scratch’ is there a way of telling which star the prize is under - other than a calculated guess is there a way to look through the silver scratchy stuff?

    Not anymore.
Before you could shine a torch through them while holding the card up, but the makers found out and changed the silver stuff, so you can not do it any more.

Mathematically there is a way, in much the same way as you can guess what cards somebody else has at a poker table.

But that’s just mathematical, you can know that one of 1000 or whatever has a small prize.

It would be a fairly major error to still make scratchcards which you didn’t have to scratch.

Assuming that there was a way, do you think I would tell you and the rest of the world? The lotteries would quickly change the cards so it couldn’t be done.

I am sure that everything has been thought of including x-rays.
